The Oxfordshire Inclusive Economy Partnership hosted an engaging workshop on February 6, 2024, at the Old Fire Station in Oxford. This in-person event was designed to help participants explore various tools that promote inclusive and sustainable decision-making.
Throughout the workshop, attendees had the chance to learn about innovative approaches and techniques that enhance decision-making processes and impact assessments, making them more regenerative and distributive by design. Expert speakers shared their insights and experiences, providing valuable knowledge to support policy and decision-makers working to create a more inclusive Oxfordshire.
The evening offered a forum for discussing and sharing ideas on generating prosperity in an inclusive way that meets the needs of all people within the limits of the living planet. Participants explored different tools for measuring impact, including the ‘doughnut economics’ model.
A short presentation covered the current 'state of play', examining the regenerative and distributive lenses already applied in decision-making across Oxfordshire. Attendees engaged in facilitated discussions to share learning, improve understanding, and encourage collaborative working.
The workshop featured presentations from Erinch Sahan (Business & Enterprise lead) and Leonora Grcheva (Cities & Regions lead) from the Doughnut Economics Action Lab (DEAL) team.
This was the first in a series of information sharing workshops that the partnership will host, exploring innovative approaches to building an inclusive economy for Oxfordshire.
